Brenson's summer adventures in the medaka pond
My name is Brenson and I have purchased several ponds for my backyard and I invite you to join me on this exciting journey Medaka travel.
Although I've kept fish in buckets before, I've never exposed them to the outdoors for extended periods. Despite the sweltering heat, I successfully spawned some beautiful fish, including Blue Miyuki. Medaka Ricefish, Daisy's Ricefish, Black/Midnight Medaka Ricefish and Medaka Koi Ricefish.
The Purple Mosaic and Assorted Guppies also made their outdoor debut and thrived in their new environment. Watching the natural ecosystem at work gave me a new appreciation for nature and its ability to control pests. While I'm happy with the results, I'm concerned about the presence of dragonfly larvae or leeches in the ponds. I even caught a cat fishing in one of the ponds, so I'm very careful to minimize light at night to ensure the safety of my fish.
